Activities

The Inn offers a host of activities
that utilize the amazing surroundings available to our guests. Some of the Midwest's premiere biking is within a 10-minute drive. The Little Traverse Wheelway, a 35-mile bike path around Little Traverse Bay, connects Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Harbor Springs. Starting in Harbor Springs and ending in Cross Villalge, the "Tunnel of Trees" ride on M-119 is also a bike ride not to be missed.

For those guests who want to enjoy the scenic waters of Walloon, the Inn has many options. We offer a rental pontoon boat for those interested in fishing or just cruising the lake. This pontoon boat rental is available by the hour, half day, or full day at very reasonable rates. Because we have only one pontoon rental boat, reservations are recommended. We also have a canoe and tandem kayak that we offer to our guests at no charge.

Frequently on Sunday and Wednesday mornings, we take our overnight guests on a one-hour steam launch cruise. The Windermere, a steam-powered launch, will take you back 120 years to the era when the Inn was built.

For those who like to walk, there is "The Path." This path was - and still is - the trail down to the Village of Walloon. "The Path" starts and the Inn and meanders along the shore for over a mile and a half, traversing bridges and climbing to over 100 feet above the lake for spectacular views.
